INTERVIEW WITH DR. LIU LIU, DIRECTOR

Dr. Liu Liu has been working as the director of the Research Cooperation Department in Großmehring since March 2021. In many areas, he acts as a kind of internal consultant or supporter. His four main areas are product development in Germany, as well as customer-specific development projects, sales, and test bench project in China. In addition, he is responsible for the cooperation with TUM International regarding research cooperation.

What is your area of responsibility?

I work in many different areas as an internal “advisor” or supporter. The four focus areas of mine are product development in Germany, customized development projects, sales and test bench production in China. In addition, I am also responsible for our cooperation with TUMint in research cooperation.

Why did you decide to work at ZD?

I don’t like routine tasks. After 10 years with the same company, I have experienced a lot and needed new challenges. I had already met our CEO Mr. Zhou, spontaneously we talked about my situation and bang, here I am.

What do you like best about your job?

I can contribute in many ways and so far, fortunately, I have been recognized by my colleagues as well 🙂 The job is never boring.

What are the biggest challenges in your job?

Travelling to China during the pandemic period. Due to my job, I am often expected to work in China, as I want to be close to clients and have personal exchanges there. The covid situation makes travel planning difficult and painful – 14 to 21 days hotel quarantine is part of every trip.

What was your best experience at ZD?

Every day at ZD is a good day. If I have to give an answer: the collective Weißwurst breakfast on Fridays with colleagues.

What has been your biggest success at ZD so far?

After I joined the company, I was given the task of preparing for the Shanghai Auto Show. It was the best opportunity to get to know our colleagues and the company. Many colleagues from China and Germany gave their utmost support and we did a perfect job!
